Young Helen
Keller by
Anne Benjamin
Young Helen
Keller is not only a picture book, it also has great
facts. It is a biography that tells about Helen's life
from beginning to end and tells how she became blind and
deaf. The book has lots of details, and how she helped
people by showing how to live with a disability. She
became a great woman, and I think you should read this
book.
Louis
Braille by
Stephen Keeler
This picture book
is easy to read and has lots of facts. This is a
biography of Louis Braille and how a person with a
disability made such a great invention that changed the
lives of the blind forever. The pictures in this book are
colorful and have good detail in them. I recommend this
book for readers to read aloud, or
silently.
I'm Deaf and It's
Okay by
Lorraine Aseltine, Evelyn Mueller, and Nancy
Tait
I'm Deaf and
It's Okay is about a boy who's deaf. This story tells
about how the boy lives with his family, who can hear. He
soon gets to be jealous of his sister because she can
hear and he can't. He talks about how he listens as the
teacher is talking by watching the signs. This is a
easy-to-read book for teachers to read to younger
kids. The reading level is 2-3 grade.
We Can Do
It! by
Laura Dwight
We Can Do It!
is a great way for little kids to understand that
other kids with disabilities are almost just the same as
you. This is a story about five kids with disabilities
that tell things they can do, not what they can't
do. This can also teach kids to keep trying and you will
succeed. A great educational book to read aloud.

Just Like You is a wonderful book about how people
with disabilities can do many things you and I do. They
just do some of them differently. The photos are very
good. I recommend this book for ages.

CD-ROM Review: The

L. A. Sternberg
The American

has fun games like memory where there is a letter you
will click on and you need to find its match. In this
CD-ROM you will be able to choose a word and then they
will find it for you and sign it. You can choose to make
the signer sign slow or fast so you can understand the
sign you choose better.
