Body Language
Making friends with a horse or pony takes a lot of time and patience. You
must know what makes them behave the way they do. Ponies are naturally
skittish, and can be easily startled. Also, they will shy at anything,
sometimes very unexpectedly, mainly because it's ancestors sprang
without warning. If you want to get to know a horse, very well, then you
need a great amount of patience. It may seem as though the horse would
be ignoring you at first, but everything takes time.
