"Most bats have a built in 'radar' system.
Echolocation enables bats to "see" when they are
hunting. Not all bats use echolation though. They
still have the instinct but don't need it as much

"Bats are nocturnal creatures.
This means that bats are active at night. They are
in pursuit of food. A bat's roost is where the bat
sleeps during the day. Roosts are often trees,
caves, attics, or man made bat houses. Bats are
found on all of the continents except Antacrtica.
All bats live where they have an ample supply of
the kind of food they eat. Fish and frog eaters
would roost near a pond. Fruit and nectar eaters
would roost near trees."
