Plumed Basilisk Lizard Walking on Water
This lizard, called the Plumed Basilisk, lives in the rain forests of Central America. It can run on water at about 12 kilometers per hour. Their toes are spread with a flap of skin between each toe and they can speed through the water. They can also lose predators that way! They can stay under water for as long as 30 minutes. They even have a nickname, "The Jesus Christ lizard" because they appear to walk on water.
