By century 21, one billion people won't be able to read or write.  The sad thing is two thirds of them are female.  Seventy-three million of school-age girls are growing up with no education!  Yikes, huh!
 

    With education we can combat poverty, prevent kids from being involved in hard labor, prevent physical and  sexual abuse, protect the environment, and control population growth.  Without education these other problems are not solved.
