Chinese Alternative Rock

 Chinese alternative rock is what most teenagers in
Chna listen to, but not many adults enjoy listening
to it.  When you think of alternative rock,
you would usually think of heavy metal, or loud bass rythms.  In
China they consider alternative rock as being less heavy beats
and more twang sounds.  Some famous rock stars are,
Jacky Cheung, L.A. Boyz,
Jeff Chang, Kelly CHan Wai Lam,
and Andy Lau. ( these names are different in Chinese )  Keep in mind that rock in China is completely
different then what your used to.  They might think that the music here is strange.
 
 

Chinese Classical Music

  Classical music is also very popular in China.
This type of musicis  similar to what we hear in the United States.
The only difference is the instruments.
The instruments in China are very relaxing,
in the United States they are pounding sticks,
and twanging guitars. Some famous Chinese instrumentalists are, Yang Yin-liu,
Hou Zuo-wu, and Yu Fei.  Come join us and

Chinese Opera Music

 Chinese people have a lot of operas that they love to go and watch.
There is some lovely music that is sang to and danced to.
It is very entertaining and even other cultures find it fascinating.
Chinese opera isn't what it is in the United States.
Its defenetely not high singing its mostly dancing and some
singing.  A famous opera director is Dr. Sin-Yan Shen.
Dr. Sin-Yan Shen was also an orchestra leader for the Chinese Classical
Orchestra.
