Almost all of the water animals or animals close to the area died.The oil acted as toxic waste to the animals. It weighed down birds wings and they drowned or starved.It killed animals that other animals ate and made sick or killed others.
Littering has claimed uncountable numbers of animals in the ocean's waters. For example a boy named Joey throws a can in the crick.That crick leads to the Delaware river. That's where the can goes. That river leads to the Atlantic Ocean. So, by now that can is floating in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Here comes a shark.It eats the can. The can cuts it's throat. It bleeds to death. So now without knowing it Joey is responsible for killing that shark. You might have heard about cutting your 6-pack. That means when your done with cans of soda cut those rings. Why? Because a large percentage of them end up in water. Like the ocean. Animals get stuck in them.
