Claude Monet was born in 1840, and died at the age of 86
in 1926. He was one of the most famous French Artists in the history
of modern art. Monet rebelled against the traditional painting
methods of his days. He wanted to paint pictures that captured the
mood and feelings of his surroundings. Impressionism was one of the
biggest stepping stones in the history of modern art.
