Monet's most famous painting is 62 feet long. It's part of his most famous and favorite series, his "Water Lilies." Half way through it Monet went blind from having cataracts removed. It was a procedure he could have had done in years before this time, but didn't want it done. Going into surgery he did not know he would never be able to see his beautiful surroundings ever again. Being blind and desperate to see again, Monet finished his 69 foot painting in despair. Monet died that year peacefully in his sleep. Monet to me was the greatest artist to ever to walk the earth.
