Controling our the human race has alwas been a dream of scientist and still is. But to do so is still very difficult. many scientist believe that cloning the best of the species is a way to create a superior human race.
Dr. Wolf in Oregon has tried 135 times to clone monkeys He believes that by cloning monkeys, we are only one step away from cloning humans. During the process of cloning monkeys, human hormones were injected to try to duplicate the human genetic make up as close as possible.
If scientist really develop a way of cloning humans, they would also have to learn to change our DNA. We could predict the looks, strength and even intelligence of our clones. The benefit of this is to create a society the could withstand future changes in our environment. For example, we could create people with gills that could live in a water world, or people that could withstand a nuclear war.
Your imagination is the only limitation as to how far this could go. With the new capabilities of altering DNA we could do anything we wanted to. Maybe we could change ourselves after we're born by injecting an altered DNA cthat would cure us of disease that hasn't even developed yet. For instance, you may have a history of heart disease in your family. They could cure you of potential heart disease before any symptoms show.
Perhaps by the year 2062, we could even have this capability in our own homes. We could even make ourselves younger, stronger, and healthier.
