Children in Central America use
worry dolls. The children will tell one worry to each worry doll
and stick them under their pillow. In the morning the worries are gone!
Steps to make worry dolls
1. Get some colorful embroidery floss or yarn and three toothpicks. One of the toothpicks should be broken in two pieces. Wind the yarn around the two broken pieces first (the arms), lightly just to cover the toothpick. You might want to use a little bit if tacky glue or paste to keep the toothpick ends together.
2. To
wrap the legs stick a piece of paper in between the toothpicks and wrap
separately until about half way, then start to wrap together until you
reach the glued and wrapped arms. Skip the arm part and continue
until there is about 1 cm. left. Make a wad of paper the size you
want the head to be. Glue the head onto the toothpick and wrap the
yarn around it. Make sure that the skin and the costumes are different
colors!
You can have as many worry dolls as you want, and as many costumes as you want!
