The Dangers of Volcanoes

Most people do not understand the true forces of volcanoes, after all of our research I have just started to understand the forces of volcanoes. Mt. St. Helens was a demonstration of what volcanoes can do. Imagine an Atomic Bomb buried underneath a hill of dirt, rocks, lava and ash. As soon as the bomb goes off lava, dirt, rocks and ash are thrown up into the air with amazing forces. Huge explosions, lava flying into the air destroying everything in it's path, everything that once was alive is no longer anymore. Totally devastated trees are everywhere with feet of ash lying on top. The rocks are hurled into the air with the great forces of an atomic bomb and ash destroying the atmosphere totally ruining everything. Volcanoes are so dangerous and devastating that it amazes me that something could do so much, for instance ash from Mt. St. Helen's was found in Montana. That's how powerful volcanoes are it's totally amazing. Since the eruption of Mt. St. Helens  scientist have just started to understand the forces of volcanoes. My partner and I decided to do our subject on volcanoes because we saw the force and we wanted other people to know about them. Volcanoes  are so destructive that there's no difference between a volcano and an atomic bomb. Volcanoes are not to be played around with. The top of a volcano could blow any second, they're not a toy. Volcanoes have always been a threat to mankind. In Ireland a small village was about to be destroyed by the on coming lava, but by the help of the U.S Navy they made a barrier to protect the city. The lava changed direction and headed toward the ocean. The city was safe for now but if the U.S Navy had not shown up that city would be burning, that's how dangerous volcanoes are. So keep away unless you have a fully trained geologist with you.
