Recreation

The Apache made baskets not pots. They made several different types of baskets both woven and coiled. The burden basket is made out of willow strips and Devils Claw. Devils Claw is a dark plant. Other materials baskets are made out of are squawberry bush, sumac, mulberry, and cottonwood. Another basket is the storage basket witch is made out of willow and strips and cottonwood.

The Apache also made beadwork. Only certain colors are used in bead work. These are bright royal blue, yellow, red and white. There are never any two articles alike in Apache bead work. Each one has its own design and their would never be any guilt of repeating another design in another article.

These are some games the Apache played

Toe Throw Stick

To play Toe throw stick, you need to first make up a mark on the ground. You would have to stand behind it balancing a stick on your toe. Then you would throw it up in the air and see who's could go the highest.

Foot Cast Ball

The apache used heavy stones and tried to balance them on their foot, then throw it up in the air. Whoever could throw the stone the highest would win. The older apaches used heavier stones and the younger used lighter stones.
