We throw away over 25 billion styrofoam coffee cups every year and 2.5 million plastic beverage bottles every hour. |

Every year the typical American family throws away:
Each of us throw more than 1,200 lb.. of trash away in a year. American's throw away about 40,000,000 soft drink cans and bottles every year. |
| Most metal can be melted down and recycled, saving huge amounts of energy. We have to recycle so we can save every living thing. Right now people aren't in the risk that other animals are, but this will change. A hundred years ago the earth was cleaner, there was little pollution, of the air, land or water. We have forgotten how to keep our earth clean and tidy. |

If every American recycled newspaper we would save about 25 million
trees each year.
People just don't think that what they do today will effect tomorrow, both for the good and for the bad. |
