-Range-
The Oustallet Chameleon likes to be in dry, rocky areas. You can find these creatures on the island of Madagascar.
-Adaptations-
These chameleons have many adaptations to the harsh climate in Madagascar. One thing that is special about this chameleon is that the females fingernails grow about a 1/4 of an inch long so they can get around in the tough, hard, hot, soil and so they can lay their eggs. This species is also adapted to living off a small amount of water.
-Coloration-
Chameleo oustaleti isn't as colorful as all the other species. These chameleons are reddish-brown and like to hang out in large bushes or trees.
-Reproduction-
30-40 eggs is a common clutch size for the females of this species. Once the eggs are incubated for about 9 months to a year, they hatch. Chameleons eggs of this species are only laid once a year.
-Parasites-
Be careful of parasites on this chameleon's body. They might have ticks, mites, or intestinal worms.
-Size-
This is one of the largest chameleons there are in the world today. They rarely grow to be 2 feet total lenght, but they are capable. Most of the species grow up to between 15 and 17 inches in length.
