European fashions changed with the different periods. The periods dated from 1485 all the way to the 1800's. The European period made up of the Tudor and Elizabethan periods from 1485-1600. Then came Cavalier, or Restoration dating from 1600 to the 18th century. After that came the most detailed and elegant age of the 17th century,during the reigns of Louis the 14th/ 15th. Another name given to this period was Men's French. Next came Georgian or 18th century 1700-1800. Then came the time for the spotlight to be shown on women's clothing, which consisted of Regency/Romantic/Victorian in the 19th century: 1800-1900 .
