Churchill

    Winston Churchill was born on November 30, 1874, in Blenheim Palace, in Oxfordshire, England. His father was Lord Randolf, and his mother was Lady Churchill. He was a plump red-head, and didn’t have much attention during his childhood. In the year 1895, he graduated from Royal Military College. On September 12, 1908, he married Clementine Hozier. Then in 1911 he was appointed first lord of admiralty. Then in 1915 he resigned from the admiralty. In 1940 he became Prime Minister of Great Britain. After that, he became the leader of the opposition. Next he became Prime Minister again after Chamberlain resigned. Following, he won a Nobel Prize for literature, and was knighted. Afterwards, he retired as Prime Minister. Then in 1955 he became an honorary citizen of the United States. On January 24, 1965, Sir Winston Churchill died in London. He is still remembered as one of the greatest leaders of Great Britain of all time. He was also one of the only generals who smoked a cigar.
