Stalingrad:
Hello, my name is Joseph Balziek and I want to tell you my experience at Stalingrad. The battle began on August 21, 1942. Those rotten Germans decided to take over Stalingrad my birth city. It was horrible, we had to fight hand to hand combat. People were dying all around me! Then it turned to winter. The river froze over so we could slide supplies over and back across at night. We fought long and hard against the Germans, and they fought hard right back. They finally surrendered completely on February 2, 1943. Some say this tragic battle was the turning point in World War II.
