Battle of the Bulge
"Son, how was your day?" Your father always used to ask you this over dinner. You wish he were here now to comfort you with all of your fellow German soldiers and officials lying on the ground around you. "December 16, 1944," you think, "will stick in my mind forever." You cant believe what has happened. And just after the Normandy invasion, too. "The war is truly coming to a horrible end for our precious Germany." This thought always gives you a bad feeling in the pit of your stomach. You know through the paper you just received how bad this battle was for you. Germany has lost more men here than in any other battle. 600,000 men involved, and 100,000 killed. "What is going to happen from here?" You think in despair. "Dont answer that," you say to yourself.
