![]() In television, people have only one reason to produce TV shows- to make you watch commercials. Not to entertain. Advertising is the only reason for TV. Producers know that you won't just sit and watch commercials on TV all day long. So, they put on TV programs. Here are some of the ways that they can "hook" you into buying: Watch how television programs have advertisments right when you want to see what's going to happen next. Producers know you will sit through commercials to catch the next part of the show. So next time you're watching tv and you get a commercial, be aware that the product is being advertised at a time when you're really paying attention to the show. Many children's shows generally have products related to characters from that show (action figures, dolls, books, etc...) to make them want to buy products that have to do with that TV show. Children are getting a sales pitch in their face, and they don't even know it! Have you ever seen a commercial on tv that had people telling how great a product is? "Kylenol helps you rest so you can get up in the morning. My kids love it too. They love the flavors and never are afraid of taking it..." That's a testimonial.
