Dear Journal,
We are still recovering from the death of our son, Jim who died from a snakebite. We are fearing for our lives more than ever. Today, when we went to the fur traders post, Fort Boise, was no exception.
The day started out calm, and undisturbed as always when we saw horses we realized that Native Americans were coming to this Idaho fort. Which was no surprise, since this fort is famous for its Indian attacks. We ran for cover and stayed for what seemed like hours. When we got up we crawled over the dead bodies of the Indian's victims which the children didn't like, we ran to our wagon and left, never to return.
