Dear Journal, (September 23th, 1856)
We are at Fort Vancouver which is our last stop for supplies. We've been on the trail since April and are pretty tired as you can imagine. We lost Jim when we stopped at the Snake River. I blame myself for Jim's death. I guess I didn't watch him as well as I should've. Ma had good reason to worry after all. We were lucky though, no one got cholera or typhoid fever. We should be in Oregon in a few days.
