Dear Journal,

Today we will stop at Chimney Rock in Nebraska. Well, we know we're going the right way now because you're supposed to pass a big mountain that looks like a chimney. Its about 500 feet tall! We're not supposed to leave the wagon though. Ma says there are too many snakes and wild animals in the fields. We're near the Platte River now and it's great for fishing. It is also a great spot to set up camp. Dad says we will get rich when we get to Oregon but I don't believe him.'
