Epiphytes include
ferns,
mosses, orchids, bromeliads and other plants that are
attached to a "host" plant, usually trees. Epiphytes grow on
other plants, but do not rely on them to survive. They make
their own food, not like parasites, which would feed off of
the tree. The epiphyte is attached to the host plant by a
root system for support.
