Concentration camps

The first concentration camps were built in Germany soon after Hitler came to power in 1933. If the Jews were caught they were either shot on the spot or handled roughly handled to be sent to the concentration camps Many prisoners were shot, died of hunger, disease, or exhaustion. Also Jews were dipped in acid baths and put into gas chambers. Inside the concentration camps the Jews were slaves to the Nazis. They would work all day and sleep a couple hours a night. The concentration camps were liberated in the first months of 1945. The major concentration camps were Aschwitz and Dachau.
