Bird Chaser

Children play with bird chasers. They scare the birds with this then chase them. This is homemade. Most of the toys or things children play with are homemade. They made the bird chaser with rags, string, and tin cans.

Buzzsaw

The buzzsaw is also homemade. It is made of string and a soda or bottle cap pounded flat. Children in the plantation sometimes use them to challenge others or they use them just to have fun. When the buzzsaw spins it makes a sound.

Bean Bags

This is homemade too. The bean bags are made of koa seeds from the koa bushes that grew wild in the fields. The seeds are sewn into a pouch made of cloth (usually from old clothes or rags) so the seeds won't fall out. They play lots of games with the bean bags, like juggling and catch.

Wooden Swords

Children in the plantation also play with wooden swords. This is homemade also. It is made of branches from trees which is shaped into a sword. They pretend they're killing each other by poking them or pushing their swords between the arm and body.
