Many might think that
whales are fish! They are actually mammals. Whales can be found
in the ocean waters all over the earth. Whales are also the largest
creatures that have inhabited the planet. The largest whale
is the "Blue Whale" and they can grow to be over 100 feet long and weigh
400,000 pounds. Whales may eat fish, krill, squid, crustaceans, and
plankton. When a whale calf is born it is able to swim. The
mother whale nurses the baby calf until it eats fish on its own.
