I teach 5th grade and have taken my class to the Neal Smith Nat. Wildlife Refuge
twice a year for four years. It is truly a special place and the students get
to help with the restoration project by harvesting seeds, planting seeds, cuting
out trees to open land for the prairie to return. When you go there, take time
to stand out in the open and marvel at how large the sky is. It always seems greater
on the prairie.
