Please create a postcard for us which shows some local "landmark" (some thing or some place famous, or very special in your town or area). Examples are the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Empire State Building in New York City, O'Hare Airport in Chicago, the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in North Carolina, or even something as simple as the local statue or cannon in your city park. You choose! See the examples we've gotten from other kids below. These features are important: You need to complete the postcard in 2 separate pieces (the illustration and the written information).  Design and make up a pretend postcard addressed to a make-believe penpal.  This is designed BY kids, WITH kids and SAFE for kids. That's why we are asking you not to use real names and addresses.  Keep it short, but fun, and include 3 facts you think other kids can learn about your landmark (be sure your postcard includes the location).  Note: The examples will change periodically, as frequently as we are allowed to update by ThinkQuest server. So keep sending those postcards! Design your postcards on manila construction paper, using colored pencils, edges cut with pinking shears. Scan your picture, and e-mail it to us OR mail to Technology Teacher, Northwoods Elementary School, 8850 Chapel Hill Road, Cary , North Carolina 27513, if you do not have access to a scanner. What else to know? Have your parents type a message and e-mail us saying we can use your illustrated postcard on the Internet.
