We all know what the Olympics are, and where they were held last time and some of us know where they were held the 4 years before that, but do you know where the Olympics originated from? Well, the Olympics started in Athens, Greece. They started in about 770 B.C.  but where not always called the Olympics.  After that they were not held for centuries . They did however start up again in 1896, and were hosted where they were created over 20 centuries,Athens, Greece. The Olympics come every 4 years and they have been all over the world. Paris, France,  Salt Lake City, USA, Nagano, Japan are a few places the Olympics have been.

  The Olympics went on until they were haulted by Athens because of the war in 1916. But not to worry, they were back in progress in 1920. The Olympics are a big part of Greece and the world, and will probly last for years to come! And we can thank Greece for them!
