When you
think of the seven wonders of the world you probably wouldn't think of
the Parthenon as one of them, but there should be eight wonders of the
world because it deserves that honor.
The Parthenon is an amazing building that is thousands of years old and
is still around today.
The Temple
of Zeus is another great building in Greece. Zeus,
the god for which the temple was made, was leader of the gods on Mount
Olympus. He lived on Mount Olympus with his wife, Hera, and their children,
Ares, Hebe, Hephaestus, Persphone, and Athena. also there was Hades, god
of the under world, keeper of the dead. There were lots of gods. ZEUS'
daughter
Athena,
was goddess of organized warfare.
Also
found in Greece are hundreds of beautiful works of art.
They have also lasted for millenniums.
People
who have beento Greece say it was the most beautiful place they have ever
seen. The Parthenon and all the ancient ruins make Greece a unique
place in the world. We owe it all to the great artists of ancient
Greece.
