| TAIL CHASING - a normal form of play for puppies. The puppy chases its tail because it might look like moving prey. Adult dogs chase it because it might need exercise or wants attention from its owner. They might also chase it because of fleas, or any other medical problem. |

| DIGGING - an activity that dogs retain from wild ancestors. Dog ancestors buried part of the food that was caught on hunts to protect from other animals. Dogs now bury bones or sometimes food. They also dig for fun. |

| EATING GRASS - Dogs seem to enjoy the flavor of grass. They eat it when they have digestive disorders, because grass causes vomiting, which helps the dog feel better. |

| PANTING - helps dogs stay cool. They also have sweat glands on their feet, but that really doesn't do very much. |
