Why They Do Things
What Kind of Food Are You Feeding Your Dog?

By: Steven and Jason

A puppy`s diet should consist of three meals each day until it is three months old. After that, it should eat two meals each day, until it is six months old. For the rest of the dog`s life, it should have one full meal each day. Giving a puppy dry food reduces tartar on the dog`s teeth. Every dog should know not to jump on the table, yet some owners permit this behavior. The dog owner should teach the dog not to do this when it is a puppy. As the dog grows larger, you should not give it more food. It probably has enough body fat to live on. There is only one excuse to feed your dog more than once a day, if your dog always looks tired and mopes around. Dogs should have foods that are high in carbohydrates. Exercise keeps your dog from being fat. There is absolutely no difference between canned food and dry food. Your dog might prefer canned food because of the high moisture level and high fat content, but it does not make a better dog. You can leave dry food out all day in a feeder or dish, but you can only leave canned food out for about an hour. An unopened can of food should be kept in a refrigerator, or someplace cool.

If you cook for your dog, it must have this daily recipe, or it will always be tired and will be mopey.
