FOOD AND BEHAVIOR

Most species live in schools but others live alone and come out at night to feed.

It eats custaceans, fish eggs, larvae, and tiny marine animals.

We have not found out how long it lives.

WHERE IT LIVES

It lives in the Southeast.

INTERESTING FACTS

The brownspot Cardinal Fish plays dead when it senses danger.

A giant conch releases Cardinal Fish from its mantle cavity when it is taken from the sea.
