Red-Eared Sliders are said to be one of the most popular pet turtles of all time. A Red-Eared Slider has red streaks on both sides of its head, which would mark its ears, if it had any. Red-Eared Sliders have hard shells. They are sold in pet shops. I own a Red-Eared that I got from a friend of my Mom`s. Red-Eared Sliders are both land and water turtles. Red-Eared Sliders live about 30 years. They live anywhere from the Mississippi Valley to Illinois to Mexico. Their claws/nails can be very long if they are allowed grow. My turtle's nails are probably an inch long. Along with this brief summary, I have made a 7-day observation of Slider, my pet turtle. I have recorded what seem to be his hobbies, what he hates to do or get, as well as other information.

Slider gets up when I get up, which is usually at 6:30 AM.
Slider likes to sit on his rock watching birds fly outside.
Slider does not like people shaking his tank or tapping on the glass.
Slider used to eat lettuce.
Slider does eat pellets and, occasionally, crickets.
Of the things Slider ate, he preferred pellets.
Slider hates getting stuck between the filters and the glass. He also hates falling off his rock and landing on his back. "Help I'm a turtle, and I can't get up!".
Slider goes to sleep at 8:30 PM.
