Iguanas
The common iguana gets up to about 6 feet long! They are know for their very imessive courting and very defensive displays, such as raising their long, fat bodies and bobbing their heads up and down very fast trying to protect themselves. The green iguana can be found mostly in the Americas and, outside the Western Hemisphere, only in Madagascar, Fiji, and Tonga. They live either in the trees, near water, and some live in hot places such as the desert. Many of iguanas features bear a resemblance to those of its extinct relatives, the dinosaurs. The large mouth, scaly skin, sharp claws, long tail, and large eyes of the iguana combine to suggest a prehistoric lineage. The lizards have adapted to a number of enviroments, and species can live in the trees, in the ocean,or just on plain old land.
