Nevada and western Arizona. Their habitat, or where they live is in arid, sandy deserts
among the scattered rocks and the big Creosote Bushes.
The
full- grown iguana is 10 to 16
inches long with
a large, round body and a very long tail. It is colored brown around the head which
changes into a reddish brown netlike pattern. It has tan or gray spots on its neck
and nose. Its tail is gray and white with rows of dark spots! The adults have a pink
hue on the side of their belly during the breeding season, which is April and May.
A handful
of 3 to 8 eggs is laid June and July, with the young ones appearing in August and in
September.
