ROCKFISH
The Rockfish is a very important native fish in the Bay. It is also known as the striped bass. It got its name because it likes to live around underwater rock piles. It is found along the Atlantic coast of the United States of America. They can weigh up to one hundred pounds and be several feet in length. They have long, dark stripes along their sides and back. Not long ago it almost disappeared. Because of conservation efforts, it is now easily found in the Bay. It is probably the most popular fish people go fishing for. |
