The Thomas Jefferson, Lincoln, and Washington Memorials offer a commanding view of the city.  The National Museum of American History has gowns worn by First Ladies, as well as the flag that inspired the "Star Spangled Banner".  The National Air and Space Museums have 23 exhibition areas.  The Vietnam Veterans` Memorial has the names of those who died during the Vietnam War, as well as those who are still missing.  The National Museum of Natural History has more than 500,000 articles displayed.  The National Archives has the Bill of Rights, the Constitution, and the Declaration of Independence.  The National Gallery of Art has masterpieces done by famous artists like Raphael and  Rembrandt.  The Freer Gallery of Art has more Whistler paintings than any other collection. The Lincoln Memorial has the Gettysburg Address, as well as Lincoln`s second Inaugural Address carved in marble.  The Thomas Jefferson Memorial is shown in a 19-foot bronze statue.  The Library of Congress has 80 million items.  It is also one of the biggest libraries in the world.  The Washington Monument is 556 feet in height.  Tourists are taken up 500 feet in the 556 foot Washington Memorial.
