In the Sherlock Holmes series, a detective named Sherlock Holmes solves many big mysteries in England. He is hired to unravel crimes, mysterious disappearances of people, and important objects.  These books about Sherlock and his assistant, Watson are perhaps the most widely known detective stories.  Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's tales are certainly great mystery thrillers.
