JEAN CRAIGHEAD GEORGE'S
MY SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN

Sam Gribbley isn't quite the person that would be labeled "lazy". In fact, he left the city life to go to the mountains.  Sam only brings a few things to the Catskill Mountains.  With his knife, ax, flint & steel, and ball of yarn, he makes a cabin & bed, and hunts for food.  Sam goes through quite a few experiences in the wild with his newly made Indian friend.  Mainly, this book is about a boy surviving in the wild, meeting many people & challenges, and almost a full instruction book of how to survive in the wild.
