Matilda is a small girl living in a house with her nasty and ugly parents. She is almost grateful to get away from them when she went to school... well, not really. Matilda is an absolute genius in school and her teacher, Ms. Honey, wants to bump her up to higher grades. But, the huge and mean principle, Ms. Trunchbull won't believe that a girl of such a small age could be at the level of a sixth grader. The Trunchbull is the terror of the school and tortures the children for fun. Matilda becomes very attached to her teacher, Ms. Honey. But then she finds out that Ms. Trunchbull is Ms. Honey's aunt, who had cheated Ms. Honey out of a house and a suitable life. At this point the young, ingenius girl begins to get amazing magical powers. Matilda uses her powers to set things right with the problem between Ms. Trunchbull & Ms. Honey and Ms. Honey helps Matilda out of her terrible family.
