Roald
Dahl was born in Wales in 1916 of Norwegian parents. He grew up in
England and lived there until his death in 1990. After World War
II, he became interested in writing and wrote his first book in 1946.
But at the time, Roald only wrote short stories for adults. It wasn't
until 1961 when his first book for children,"James and the Giant Peach"
was published. Dahl wrote more than twelve children's books including:"Charlie
and the Chocolate Factory","The BFG","Matilda", and,"Danny:The Champion
of the World."
