BEVERLY CLEARY



     Beverly Cleary was born in McMinnville, Oregon. Cleary lived on a farm in Yamhill, OR until she was 6 when she moved to Portland. After college, she became the children's librarian in Yakima, WA.  In 1940 she married.  and later became a mother of twins. Some of her famous books include: "Dear Mr. Henshaw," the "Ramona" books, "Ribsy" books, and the books starring Ralph S. Mouse, Henry Huggins, Ellen Tebbit, and Otis Spofford. She is one of todays great children's writers.
