Another Two Chapters...

 

Dear Journal,

I have just entered the pulping house, and

machinery is waiting to remove the pulp from

the berries. I felt myself being jumbled

along on a conveyer belt. Along the

way, I have met many friends.

Dear Journal,

Call me conceited, but I have been very

ugly lately. My friend, Cappa Chino, agrees with

me. I value his opinion because he and I

have spent much time inside the same

berry. I found out that I was covered

in a parchment-like skin. My

SECOND SKIN is called silver skin.

I also found out that I appeared bluish-green and

that I was very soft! However, that is changing.

Right now, I am becoming hard, and I am turning

a beautiful pale yellow. I am

currently sitting in a washing tank getting

cleaned for what seems like the hundreth time!

Finally, they lay me out to dry and cure.

I will be here for several weeks.
