Also at Lexington,Kentucky and at the U.S. Military Academy.After his graduation in 1828,he saw frontier service until ill health forced his resignation from the army in 1835. He served as a present of the Confederate States of America during the Civil War. He lived in a Cotton Planter after he was married. Again he married Varina Howell. As U.S. Senate he often stated his support of slavery and state rights. Also he was the president of the Confederate States. His grave is in Richmond , Virginia. He wrote The Rise and Fall of the Confederate government.
