Be sure to go to the ATM and get some cash so that you will have money if you need it.

Be sure to fill your car gas tank with gas so you have enough to make an evacuation.

Make motel reservations as soon as possible in an area away from the hurricane path.

Clean out the bathtub and fill with water to be available for general use if there is a loss of water during the storm.

Pack the freezer with bottles of fresh water to help keep the freezer cold if there is a power failure. They would also be a good source of drinking water when thawed, if there were a loss of water service. Also, do any work that requires electricity, before there is a loss of electric power.

Buy batteries for flashlights and radios in case of power failure.

Buy batteries, be sure to fill you gas tank on your cars, and stock up on fresh water.

Be sure to stock up on canned foods and candles. Don’t forget pet food if you have pets.

Put boards up over your windows to protect them from the storm.

Tape your windows on the inside. Keep a propane stove and make sure you have propane and matches.

Secure any loose outdoor items that could become projectiles during the storm.

Make sure you have necessary medical supplies on hand, both routine medications that family members might need as well as emergency first aid supplies.

Keep a generator and make sure you have gasoline for it in case of a power failure.
