during the stormDuring the Hurricane

Be brave.  You may hear the winds swirling outside, knocking down trees and rattling the windows.

The winds may knock down power lines and the electricity may go out.  Have your flashlight ready.

Listen for weather reports and emergency information. Have your battery-powered radio handy if the power goes out.

Stay indoors!  Don't be fooled by the calm eye of the hurricane.

Stay away from windows, skylights, and doors.

If the winds are very strong, go to a closet or bathroom in the center of your home.
