Sierpinski's Gasket

Draw the Sierpinski Gasket!

 

MATERIALS:

Paper

Pencil

 

 

1. Draw out an equilateral triangle. Take the midpoints of the 3 lines, and connect them with lines. Now you will have 4 triangles. Shade all but the middle in black. The white areas are referred to as "thrown out". Compare yours to the picture for reference.

 

2. Each time you go through that loop, or calculation, is 1 iteration. Now, repeat the process again, but do it to all the new lines you got. If you are stuck, refer to the picture below.

 

 

3. Do the same process as many more times as you wish. If you repeat the process 4 times and color it, it may look like the image at the top of the screen.
