Pioneer Toys

Pioneer children played with toys. These are some of the toys they had and the games they played: corn husk dolls, tops, marbles, jax, grace, hop and sticks, pick-up-sticks, zoetrope, and jump rope. These toys were played with when ever the pioneer children or adults were not working in the fields or cooking. This is how they played with some of the toys:

Grace: You need to have two people, one hoop and two pairs of sticks. Then you you fling the hoop from one person to the other by pulling the sticks apart quickly!

Hoop and Sticks: You have a hoop and a stick you hit the hop with the stick. The object of the game is to keep the hoop rolling.

Zoetrope: Was like a cartoon a child place a piece of paper in the zoetrope than they spin zoetrope around the strip of paper looked like it was spinning.
